Let’s Talk

Heavenly Father, I often think about talking with you. Sometimes I pray, but I don’t feel like my prayers sound right; they don’t feel effective. Sometimes my heart isn’t in the right place. If that’s true, today, Lord, I’m all in! I’m here before you, heart and soul because there is no place else I’d rather be. I know you hear me.

Help me be honest with you and with myself. I know I can’t hide anything from you, and in some ways, that is a relief. It means that anything I confess won’t be a surprise to you. It means you already know me better than I know myself. Thank you for inviting me to come to you anyway. Thank you for being so incredibly faithful to me.

I pray for people everywhere who struggle to find the right words to pray and who wonder if their prayers are effective. Help them know you are never too weary, too busy, or too far away to hear them. Call each of us into sweet conversation with you so we may respond, “Lord, I am coming.” Amen.
