Refresh: 21 Days of Prayer & Fastingનમૂનો
Romans 6:4 (NAS) Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
One of the misunderstandings of scripture about the born-again spirit is that there is this internal battle going on in your spirit between the old man and the new man. Who is going to win? The new man who is created after the likeness of Jesus, or the old man who is in the image of the fallen man or Adam?
Well, I want to declare that you are not a spiritual schizophrenic. There is no fight going on in your born-again spirit over who is in-charge. The old man is dead! You are a New Creation in Christ Jesus. The battle is in the soul, not in your born-again spirit. That is a different devotional.
You have the life, nature, and character of God living in you and you no longer live according to the flesh. How refreshing to know that the outcome of a battle between the old man and the new man depends not on me! Jesus took care of the old man at the cross. In my spirit, I am holy, blameless, and above reproach. And all that is working itself out into my everyday life.
Again, Romans 6:4 (NLT) says “For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”
So don’t keep resurrecting the old man; he is dead and buried in baptism!
Your affirmation declaration for today is… I am a new creation and refreshed in the likeness of Jesus Christ. By His grace I am set free to live and walk free.
