The Blood Covenant

The Lord spoke to Moses, concerning the last and final in a series of plagues over the land of Egypt. He promised that He would spare the lives of the Israelites, as long as the blood of the sacrificial lamb was applied on their door posts. This was the final blow, which forced Pharaoh to accept defeat. Thus began the Passover feast, which is still celebrated by Jews all over the world.
The Passover is one of the most significant symbols of God’s amazing love for His people, that He can go to any extent to protect them from the principalities and powers of darkness. For us, as part of the New Covenant, Jesus is our Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7). Jesus shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins, which is something we did not deserve, but received as a gift through grace. Through the blood of Jesus, we have the opportunity to experience God’s love, grace, protection and healing. His blood is also a symbol of reconciliation and restoration. It provides for broken relationships to be restored through the power of forgiveness. It is edifying to the soul when we forgive someone who has hurt us in the past.
Today, we partake of the Holy Communion in remembrance of Jesus, our sacrificial Lamb’s death on the cross. When we drink the wine, we must remember that Christ’s blood provides for bold access into God’s presence (Hebrews 10:19). Be assured that when you apply the blood of Jesus on yourself and your home, the devil ceases to have any power to destroy you and your family. Choose today to walk in the victory and the freedom that Jesus gives us!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the unconditional love that was manifested on the Cross of Calvary, where You did not spare Your Son Jesus, who shed His precious blood for my sins, so that I could experience complete redemption and freedom. Amen.
