God Is Faithful, So I Am Strong
Faithfulness is what builds the future. Not just in business, but in any area: your family, your friendships, your ministry, your calling. When you put in the work, day in and day out, your efforts compound. They begin to build momentum, and they leave a mark on the world. You need other things as well—skills, knowledge, and teamwork, to name a few—but none of those will be enough to build something lasting if they are not sustained over time.
God, of course, is the ultimate example of faithfulness. He is constant and consistent. He never wavers or changes. The prophet Samuel said, “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for He is not a human being, that He should change his mind” (1 Sam. 15:29). God has all the power in the universe and does mighty miracles when He wants to, but most of the time, He seems to prefer to work slowly and steadily through us.
What does this mean for you? First, you can count on God’s faithfulness even when you don’t see dramatic results. He might be working slowly, but His work is as irresistible as a river carving a canyon out of rock.
Second, your strength is found in faithfulness. Even if you don’t feel particularly powerful, you can be consistent. You can show up every day and do what you need to do. Whether that means being faithful in your family, your work, your studies, your prayer life, your finances, your time in Scripture, your mental health, or something else, it’s worth it. You are making progress, no matter how slow it seems. Someday you’ll look back and be amazed at the progress you’ve made.
Is there an area of your life where you’ve felt like wavering lately? Maybe you know you are doing what is right, but you wonder if your efforts matter or you worry your strength is too small. Don’t give up. Be patient, steady, gentle. Gain your strength from God’s faithfulness, and just do what you can each day.
Remember, God will never leave you, never forsake you, never reject you. He is your anchor. His faithfulness means you don’t have to fear or hide. You are welcomed in His presence any time, any place, any way you want. Like every good father would, God loves to be with His children. You are His.
Are there specific challenges where you need more of God’s strength? How does His faithfulness encourage you to abide in His presence?
About this Plan
Far too many of us drift through life, grasping for occasional clues to our God-given purpose and identity. Scripture shows us how to close the gap between drifting and certainty. Each day of this reading plan explores both a facet of who God is and what that means for your transformation as His son or daughter. As a child of God, you can live from your identity instead of constantly searching for it.
