Don't Settle for a Copyનમૂનો
Who’s Not For You
The time will come during your relationship when you will be faced with this question: Am I with the person who God wants me to share a lifetime with? It would be dangerous to ignore the red flags and shy away from examining closely whether you’re on the right path. This is a major decision! Your heart is too valuable to waste on a “copy.”
First things first, any candidate that is already currently legally married can safely be discarded as an option for you. Here are five reasons why you should never form a relationship with a married person:
- First - you will be committing adultery!
- Second - you will be entrusting your heart to a distrustful person!
- Third - you will waste your precious time next to a super “copy”! The “original” blessing that God has for you might be missed while you’re entertaining a romantic imposter.
- Fourth - you will be settling for measly crumbs! You deserve more than leftovers from another matrimony that is still in place.
- Fifth - you will be like the ox that’s led to the slaughter (Proverbs 7:22)! At the end of the road, you could be facing spiritual or physical death.
Outside of married people, you should also be cautious if you’re afraid to ask God for confirmation for your relationship, if deep in your heart you know that His answer will be negative. God’s already spoken but you haven’t been listening. Ask yourself how your partner would help you in your ministry and if they would be a complement to you in the important areas in your life. If the outlook is grim and overly pessimistic, you’re undoubtedly with a “copy”. Just because they’re a good person does not mean that they have all the tools to be a good partner and help you fulfill God's purpose for your life.
Try asking God to reveal to you the qualities of your “original” and ideal partner. These characteristics will serve as a basis for studying the people who show interest in you. The Bible recounts what happened to a loyal servant, who was in search of a wife for Isaac, his master Abraham’s son. God sent signs to guide him towards Rebekah, the future matriarch. You can ask for signs as well. If God did it for Isaac, He can do it with you, but you have to open your heart and allow Him to guide you. Remember that what God gives is unique and special. Who God has for you will ADD UNTO YOU and NOT SUBTRACT FROM YOU.

About this Plan
The main concept of this 5-day devotional deals with practical guidance in identifying one’s ideal spouse with the help of God. The title "original" is used here to represent the best possible option as a lifelong companion, and the terms “copy” or “copies” describe all other possible partner options. The authors' objective is aimed at single, divorced or widowed people who intend to marry or remarry and fulfill the grand purpose that God has for their life.
