Kingdom Marketing Mindset for Authorsનમૂનો
Foundations of Kingdom Marketing
In traditional marketing, you will see a lot of “follow my blueprint” programs.
However, with a Kingdom Marketing Mindset, we encourage you to follow the blueprint you develop with God.
Instead of looking to a “guru” to give you a cookie-cutter plan, seek God’s strategy for you.
For example when Shelley was a physical therapist, she saw many therapists give cookie-cutter plans. But the ones that were most effective were created for each patient individually based on their history and evaluation.
It’s the same concept with runners CJ has coached over the years. Every runner is on a different level and a cookie-cutter plan would be too difficult for some and too easy for others. Each running plan is tailored to the individual and their own progression.
As authors, we often feel pressure to do what is typically done from a traditional marketing plan. However, what does it look like for your business to approach marketing from a Kingdom mindset?
Ask God how much time, energy, and money to invest. It’s easy to get busy, busy, busy doing a lot of things that won’t really make a big difference, or have a very big return on investment. We can find ourselves spinning our wheels. We’ve done a lot of that over the years.
During the height of his speaking ministry, CJ spent lots of time putting together mailings to send schools & churches. He sent lots of emails and made follow up phone calls as well. Our good friend Phillip (also a speaker/author) told us something that really got us thinking. He said he was trying to spend twice as long in prayer compared to the time spent marketing. It wasn’t laziness, it was redirected energy with the purpose of tuning into God and also asking Him to open doors that were a good fit.
It reminds us of those powerful words of Jesus,
“But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
- “All these things” = food, drink, clothing, shelter, etc. Basic day to day necessities that our Father knows we need.
- Kingdom writers seek first the plans of God and what He’s up to in building the Kingdom.
- Kingdom writers aren’t overly concerned with material things that are here today gone tomorrow. We know there is something much better ahead
What is God saying to YOU for YOUR book in this season?
Leave the results up to God – He is the God of the outcome.
