[Wisdom of Solomon] Five Cups of Tea With Momનમૂનો
Abounding In Wisdom And Loving Words
Have you ever not known what to say when someone is pouring their heart out to you? You want discernment to give them godly advice, but maybe you are at a loss for words. At the same time, we all have a person in our lives who always knows what to say and there’s usually a verse to go along with it. Maybe you were once at a crossroads. You were down and out. When you finally talked to that person, the one who always knows what to say, he or she had nothing but love and wisdom waiting for you. How great would it be if we, too, could provide that for someone?
Today’s teacup is on how to abound in wisdom and with words that are loving and fruitful. When we abide with the Lord, what comes out are wise and loving words. We find wisdom and loving words in the Scriptures, because it is God who is speaking to us through them. The Bible tells us that God is love. So, the goal of the Scriptures is to remind us of God’s love and His plan of redemption for the broken world we live in.
The fruit of this abiding and relationship with our good Father will be words of wisdom and love. This fruit should be as natural as apples from an apple tree. Have you ever seen an apple tree struggle to produce fruit? Maybe the reason you lack such spiritual fruit is that you are not abiding with Christ in His Word. The Holy Spirit can remind you of a scripture passage you read years ago to help you talk with someone who is wrestling with doubt, fear, or depression. He does this not only for them, but for us, too. The more we sit with Jesus and abide in Him and His teachings, the more the Holy Spirit uses Jesus’ words to encourage us and give us the wisdom we lack.
It’s not always easy to hear tough truths, but when they come from someone who loves you, they build us up. It is easy to surround yourself with people who will tell you nothing but good things and things you want to hear but don’t make you more like Jesus. The Bible is honest with us. It pulls no punches. It will tell you what you need to hear when you need to hear it. The famous saying, ”Ignorance is bliss,” does not work when it comes to eternity. Hard truths will benefit you more than just words someone says to make you happy. The Lord is concerned with your soul, with giving you eternal joy rather than fleeting happiness. Wisdom will last forever; thus, the Bible tells us at all costs to seek wisdom. Then you will be able to bring others the comfort, wisdom, and love you yourself have received from the Holy Spirit.
Thought for today: Do you abound with loving words and wisdom? Let today be the day you abide in Christ and trust the fruit will come.
About this Plan
When we live anchored in the Lord, we can smile at the future and what is to come. We live from God’s love and freely give that love to others through our kind words, time, and attention. When we intentionally live this way, we walk in abundant life and leave a legacy and blessing for those to come.
