Mission
“But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:4-7, CSB)
You were created for a mission because you were created in the image of a missionary God. God has always had a mission. It has often been said, "God did not create a mission for his people; He created a people for his mission." This is true. God did not create mankind and then realize that they would be bored if he didn’t give them something to do. God created mankind to fulfill His mission. Before mankind ever existed, God had a mission. John 3:16-17 says, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
As Augustine of Hippo famously said, “Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.” Because we were created for God, and will only find satisfaction in God, God desires to spread his presence to the ends of the earth. God’s mission has always been that all people know and worship Him. We get to be a part of that by sharing the good news of the Gospel with those around us. Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
If it is only in the presence of God that people find life, joy, satisfaction, purpose, and fulfillment, the greatest demonstration of God’s love would be to call all people to come into his presence through Jesus Christ and worship Him.
This is the mission of God. This is the mission you were created for.

About this Plan
Everything in a man’s life hinges on the kind of man he is. Yet, none of us is naturally a godly man. That’s something we have to learn, pursue, and cultivate. The book of Titus offers qualities that are foundational to godly manhood.
