The Campfire Is Callingનમૂનો
Calmed and Quieted
I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself.
PSALM 131:1–2 NIV
Dwelling on things we can’t control or change is the easiest way to make our lives more difficult and the simplest way to drain our energy. We need our spiritual energy to focus on the good things God has for us and the right things He wants us to do. Mental crowding can cause spiritual congestion. We can’t trust God and worry at the same time. Trusting leaves the need to Him. Worrying transfers the weight of it to our hearts and minds. It’s a heaviness neither was designed to bear.
Living simply comes by trusting fully that God sees us, knows us, and loves us without condition. It’s believing we don’t have a thing to worry about. There isn’t a single part of us equipped to handle stress. God created us to know that we need Him and to learn how to depend on Him. His desire is for us to love Him completely, surrender fully, and allow Him to lead. When we believe wholeheartedly that God is a constant, loving, and active part of every step we take, peace pours in to submerge every fear. A calm soul sees more clearly the answer God has for the problem.
A quieted heart knows more confidently the power God has to make a way where there is no way. In God’s hands our lives are in the best place they can be. To think and overthink about fixing all the things that keep our minds busy and our bodies awake at night is to forget how much God loves us. He can never, ever fail. What a comfort to be able to turn to Him without reservation, knowing His grace is there without hesitation.
Dear God, it’s up to me to put my trust in You. Fill my soul with reminders of all the ways You’ve come to my rescue in the past and how You've been a faithful, loving Father.
