Possess the Promised Landનમૂનો
A Commitment to Step out in Faith
In your journey through life, God will ask you to do something. This may be where you are right now. You’ve heard Him speak to you through His word or in your prayer time, and now…here you sit…right at the water’s edge.
This is exactly where the children of Israel found themselves as they stood on the edge of the Jordan River in Joshua chapter 3.
God had promised them that He would “stop up the Jordan,” and they would walk on dry ground (Joshua 3:13) — but look at how God did it.
It says that once the priests and the leaders of Israel carrying the Ark stepped into the Jordan, it began to pile up some miles away and slowly dried up.
This means that at first, the leaders had to walk into the water. They had to make the first move before the waters parted for them.
The leaders then had to stand in the middle of the Jordan until the entirety of the children of Israel passed through on the dry ground.
This required tremendous courage.
Throughout the Bible, there are examples of God calling people to step into His promises. He called Peter out of the boat to walk on the water. He told the Israelites to march around Jericho. He told four lepers to walk towards the enemy’s camp. In each of these situations, when people responded to God’s call to take a step, He did the impossible.
There will be times in your life when you will have to step out and stand in faith that God is moving on your behalf — even before you see a miracle happen.
It’s time to stop procrastinating and step out of your comfort zone. Maybe you need to….
- Have that conversation
- Make the call
- Apply for the job
- Start writing that blog
- Do that one thing you haven’t done yet (You know the one!)
- Take that bold step
Don’t get stuck standing on the shore. Step out, dip your toe in the water and keep moving forward!
Reflect:
What move do you need to make?
What step of faith will open the waters of the Jordan for you?
