A Good Reputation - Proverbs 22
Your reputation is other people’s general beliefs or opinions about you. The word reputation comes from a Latin word meaning “consideration.” It’s how people consider you. When people think about you, how would they describe you? Of course, we are warned against having an unhealthy fear of man (Proverbs 29:25), meaning our concern about what people think of us could keep us from obeying what God wants us to do, but this verse refers to our integrity. We are to be honest and trustworthy.
Make it your aim to live in a way that pleases God with humility and integrity. If you say you’re going to do something, then do it. Be nice and kind to the people you interact with today. Show respect to others and walk worthy of the Lord (Colossians 1:10). That’s the kind of life God blesses!
“Father, I pray that you would give me the grace and strength to live my life in a way that pleases and honors you today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
