In the Cleft of the Rockનમૂનો
Unending Protection
We feel insignificant much of the time. Personally, I have always felt hidden. God only wants me seen at certain times and only for certain things, but otherwise hidden. Usually when God hides us it is for protection. He will hide us in a safe place. This is a promise He has given. He tells us He is our refuge from the storm, and I was definitely going through a storm. It was raging something fierce and I couldn’t see or find my way out. That’s when He put me in The Cleft of The Rock. The definition of a cleft is: “...a narrow opening, a fissure, a hard place, dark.” That’s where I was when he stepped in. He took my despair, my anxiety, my fear of the unknown, and with the reinforcements he sent me – I was mentored into a new sheltering experience. He hid me in the Cleft. Where I was safe. Where it was peaceful. Where I was out of the elements.
Let me remind you of Psalm 91, one of the Psalms of protection. Verses 2-4 say, “I will say to the Lord, my refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust! For it is He who rescues you from the net of the trapper and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and wall.”
Again, he is telling us how he will hide us from evil and cover us. I can say that I’ve experienced this first hand. Did the enemy lie to me and say that God wouldn’t help me? That I had no recourse? That I would be surely destroyed? Of course, he did! That’s what the enemy does!! But remember, we don’t listen to a liar, we listen to truth. The truth is that God does what He says He will do. He says he will protect us and he will. He did it for me. It didn’t matter anymore how the storm raged. It could rage all it wanted because I felt God place me in the safe place. He shielded me. I realized in those moments that I could actually face anything because my mighty warrior would be right there at a moment’s notice. I did not need to fear the unknown. He cared about this insignificant woman living in rural small-town America. He cares about you, too. However insignificant you may feel doesn't matter. Look at the truth of the scriptures, claim them for yourself, and let the enemy watch as you are protected against anything he may throw at you.
About this Plan
The only security we have is in our Lord. We have this innate need to feel protected against outside forces. When things go wrong and it feels like there is no protection left, it can throw us into a desperate state. The best thing to do is stand on God’s word and what He tells us. We must take refuge in HIM.
