Full of Power
“Hey, Strong Gal! You good?” This is the greeting I get from a church brother every Sunday morning. He is genuinely interested in my strength journey, so we chat weekly about my lifts. I'm grateful for the strength that has come with powerlifting training. I'm even more thankful for the power Christ provides to get through each day. We often use the words ‘power’ and ‘strength’ interchangeably. While they might be similar in our minds, there is a difference. Strength is measured by how much resistance we overcome. Power is measured by how fast we overcome that resistance.
Let’s Examine: God’s divine power is a dynamic force immediately available to us. It takes time under pressure for us to build physical strength. But God's divine power is readily accessible and provides everything we need for life and godliness. Everything we need to pursue our purpose is at our disposal. We have received the power we need to live in alignment with God’s Word. We are capable of living life to the fullest through His divine power. Even in our spiritual battles, the weapons we use are not based on the strength we have access to in this world. “On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4 NIV.
Let’s Reflect: How have you seen God's divine power at work in your life? What is stopping you from living fully in the power He has provided?
Let’s Walk: Thank God for His divine power as you walk today. Take comfort in knowing that you have precisely what you need to live life in a manner that pleases and glorifies Him.
