Year of the Bible: Part Four of Twelve નમૂનો
Rewind and Play It Again.
It is easy to imagine that keeping the ten commandments makes you more Godly and righteous. God set these commands for the Israelites as a way for them to stand out from the rest of the everyday society. While the rest of the world participated in barbaric and immoral behavior, God's law set the Israelites apart. God's law made a noticeable difference then and now serves as a reminder that we need God's help to walk in a different way than the world walks.
Don't focus on how well you can or cannot keep God's commandments. Jesus did it for you. He said, "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose." (Matthew 5:17 NLT)
In the same way, those of us who sincerely follow Jesus stand out in our communities. It is so important to recall God's principles and love for us through Jesus Christ. When we forget or overlook these principles of faith, we lose sight of our relationship with God and all that He has planned for us.
Question: How often do you rewind and play the thoughts of God's principles and love for you?
Prayer Focus: Ask the Lord to settle your heart and minimize distractions so that you can recall and embrace all that He's done for you.
Go Deeper: Most of us have a favorite movie quote or song, and these songs and phrases get stuck in our heads because we repeatedly play them in our thoughts. Perhaps you can pause those thoughts and recall the critical meeting that Moses called for God's people. Take this thought and remember how Jesus fulfilled the commandments for you and how God's principles work best in your life. Realize that a loving God who desires a relationship with you did it all for you to give you a new inheritance and a new way forward.
