Real Hope: The God Connectionનમૂનો
The Priesthood
The law has been given, the tabernacle planned, including the requirements of its use, and now, in this chapter, we see how the priesthood are to lead the worship in the tabernacle. It lays out the special role in how these priests mediate between God and the people of Israel. And it shows that God is to be taken seriously and that the role of the priesthood is significant. Verse 30b sums it up: ‘Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.’ Aaron’s role as the chief priest is a special role.
Even in Jesus’ day, the role of the chief priest was still special and very important. He was supposed to guide people in the ways of God, but with roles of power comes great responsibility. The chief priest in the time of Jesus was the one who wanted Jesus killed and did everything possible to make it happen (see Matthew 26:37–59). The chief priest was not pointing the people to God and God’s plan, but turning them away from the Saviour to have Him killed.
Through Jesus, an intermediary is no longer necessary. God’s plan was such that we can be saved because Jesus was not just crucified, but rose from the dead. We have direct access to the Father. We can just talk to Him, anytime, anywhere.
Now that is something special and we can wear anything we like!

About this Plan
Connection. We are created for connection. From the first breath in the darkness at the beginning of time through to today, God has always desired to be connected to His people. To live with us. However, sin destroyed this plan. Through these readings in Exodus, we see the lengths God is willing to go to remain connected to His people despite our sin and constant rejection.
