My Best Hope

DAY 3 OF 6

Putting Hope Into Action

So, you’ve learned that hope is powerful. You’ve learned that your best hope is in Jesus—what He wants you to do, what He’s done for you, and what He will do for you! You’ve even learned that Jesus is there for you when your hopes and dreams don’t happen the way you wanted.

Today, there’s another story of hope for you to watch. Watch this video from a friend of The Loop Show. She talks about a time when hope inspired her to action. And it answers the question: What happens to hope when we’re disappointed?

Remember what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said: “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” When you know you’re doing something good, and you get knocked back—let hope be the fuel that moves you forward. Recognize that the goodness of God doesn’t stop with your disappointment. His hope is infinite! When your best intentions fail, hope reminds you that God is still working.

Ask yourself: What do I think hope might be inspiring me to do with my life? Or, what’s a godly thing I’d like to do, but it might seem a little hard to do right now?

Challenge yourself: Share your thoughts from the “Ask yourself” question above with a trusted adult. Ask them to help you figure out what you could do. Let hope inspire you to make a plan and follow through with the plan you came up with together! And remember, let hope keep you moving forward when you face obstacles and disappointments.

Pray: God, my best hope is in You. It’s not my plan or strength. My future is Yours, so guide my path with infinite hope. No matter what circumstances come my way, I will not give up. I hold firmly to the hope I claim in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
