Walking Through a Spiritual Droughtનમૂનો
Remain In Him
The word “remain” means to stay joined, connected, and steadfast. There are times when we drift away from God, and we become too focused on the things around us. This will cause problems to arise. If you continue down this path, you’ll find that your actions towards other people will change. You may notice that your attitude causes pain to others, and your walk with Christ becomes different than what it used to be. You’ll see a season where your spiritual fruit starts to diminish, and your passion for the things you used to love doing will dwindle. This is the time to return to who you were in Christ by remaining in Jesus every day. We remain in Christ by inviting Jesus into our hearts; the Spirit will stir your heart, leading to spiritual growth. Jesus doesn’t promise to transform your heart and then leave you. He promises to stay. He wants to walk with you and be with you every day. Jesus constantly transforms you into the person He has called you to be. In John 15, Jesus said, “I am the vine, and you are the branches.”
John 15:5-6
I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
Galatians 5:22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passion and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Today’s questions to ponder:
- Take time to write out the verses from Galatians. Which fruits of the Spirit are you strong in? Which ones are you falling short in?
- Repent to the Lord of you falling away from Jesus. Pray to God and ask Him to send His Spirit and give you the strength to remain in Him.
