Jesus, the King: The Resurrection Story

DAY 3 OF 3

Jesus was and is the restoration that we need.

What Jesus did on the cross by defeating death and declaring that death has no control over us is our victory!

He did all of this because he loves us.

Romans 5:6 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Through this, Jesus invites us to follow Him. Are we, are you, willing to accept His invitation? He has reconciled the lost to him. He invites us to join Him in spreading the good news and the ministry of reconciliation to us. We must all answer this invitation one way or another. The decision to become his disciples is an important one.

What does it look like to be a disciple of Christ and take up the cross?

There will be persecution (2 Timothy 3:12).

There will be trials (James 1:2-4).

God will use these trials to make us more like Him (1 Peter 1:6-8).

The world will hate us because they first hated Jesus (John 15:19-21).

But it will be worth it. The cost of being a disciple means eternal life with the Father. This world is only temporary. And we take to heart that Jesus has overcome this world. He is sovereign over everything. Scripture tells us in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Will you take up the cross? Will you accept His invitation?
