A Heart of Service નમૂનો
Genesis is passionate about the creative arts—particularly music. Her passion for music began at the age of four years old. “When I was a kid, my father didn’t buy me dolls, only little wooden music instruments,” Genesis said. Her growth in Christ also began around the same time because her parents enrolled her in Compassion’s child sponsorship program.
Over the years, Genesis learned how to play the guitar, ukulele, piano, marimba, and saxophone. She was also part of Stars of Christ, a band formed with four other sponsored youth.
During this season, she used her gifts and skills to support others and impact their lives by starting a new initiative for the other young ladies at the Compassion centre where they studied the Bible and where she helped them discover their skills and serve God.
Now, Genesis is 21 years old and works as a physiotherapist in her community. In this new season, she uses her profession as a medium for serving others and actively looks for ways to help her community. “More than seeing it as a job, I would like to do medical brigades with other people who are also specialized in this medium so that we can give free therapies to people who lack resources,” Genesis explained.
When we serve God by using our skills, gifts, and talents and choose to relate with others in a God-honouring way, we will find ourselves living in God’s plan for our lives. We can live with the hope that God will use us to impact the lives of those around us. Living this way will make us humble, happy, and purposeful.
Identify ways you can serve God in this season by using your gifts and talents in a meaningful way in your community.
Lord, use me to do great things in Your Name. Help me to serve You with a purpose. Amen.
