God Hacksનમૂનો
If you’ve touched any form of social media, you’ve likely come across posts sharing various “Life Hacks.”
Life hacks are the title given to simple tricks applied to everyday activities to make our lives easier, more productive, or more efficient.
Our Bible takes life hacks to another level. It’s filled with simple truths that, when applied to our day-to-day activities, dramatically increase the fruitfulness and happiness of our lives.
We call these truths “God Hacks.”
One of the most important God Hacks, or simple truths that is listed within the book of Proverbs would be to sharpen each other.
It’s good for us to spend time with each other, and it’s clear that God didn’t intend for us to go through life alone. Proverbs 27:17 states that just as iron will sharpen iron, one person sharpens another.
Think about it: after God created Adam, He Himself said that it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone, and so God created Eve.
You see, the phrase iron sharpens iron refers to the means in which tools and weapons were created in this time period. At the time, the strongest and sharpest weapons and tools were made by blacksmiths using iron hammers and iron anvils. Just as these two tools can shape and sharpen a sword, people can greatly influence one another. The strongest, most well-equipped people are strengthened by others. God didn’t create us to live in solitude. We are social beings, and we must both rely on others as well as be reliable for others.
God wants us to help one another. We must rely on this God Hack in order to strengthen not only ourselves, but those around us!
Note that if the iron hammer doesn’t come in contact with the iron sword, that the blade remains dull. It takes contact for these items to shape each other. Similarly, if we want to be sharpened into the people that God desires for us to be, we absolutely must have consistent contact with God’s people.
It’s good for us to spend time with each other. It’s what God wants.
