On Mission to March Madnessનમૂનો
Living for Eternal Hope
Things look different when we see things as God does.
Everyone goes through difficult circumstances at one time or another. It could be the loss of a job, struggles in relationships, or health problems. In those difficult times, we often become discouraged or frustrated. We forget the hope and joy God has promised us. Even when things are great, we need a reminder that happiness is temporary and does not compare to eternal joy.
Michaela Jones plays basketball for Washington State University. She has had both difficult and wonderful experiences as a student-athlete. Listen to how she describes her experience.
How amazing is it that God has given us the gift of getting to spend eternity with Him? You may face difficult circumstances like Michaela did with her injury. And like her, you too can rest in the joy of the promise of eternity with God. Remember too during joyful times, that we are living for eternal hope, not the things of this world. We all need constant reminders that nothing can ever compare to the joy of knowing Christ. This is true whether you are on the court playing in March Madness or in the office working towards vocational goals. We can all be “reminded of an incredible gift that God offers—eternity with Him!"
Application Questions:
- What thoughts tend to circulate in your mind when you are in a tough circumstance?
- Take a moment and ask God to remind you daily of the eternal hope He has given you.
Conclusion
In the middle of Proverbs 22, there is a powerful verse. It is almost as if Solomon called a timeout to remind the reader why he gives these life lessons. It says, “I am teaching you today—yes, you—so you will trust in the Lord” (NLT). That is it. God uses life lessons to build our trust. Our prayer is that these four days spent hearing about the stories of NCAA March Madness athletes has been a reminder to do that—to increase your trust in Him.
Next Steps
Making Your Life Count has other YouVersion Bible App plans that cover the four areas of WALK, PRAY, CARE, and SHARE. We also have another similar plan with a sports-related theme called Journey to the Olympics.

About this Plan
When March Madness is in full swing and a championship is in sight, how do players keep focused on what matters most? There is great pressure that comes from playing at this level. Players and coaches must stay sharp and keep their emotions in check. God's Word can help do that. We bring you inside the journey of NCAA athletes who are trusting God on and off the court.
