When God Could’ve but He Didn’tનમૂનો
This, too, shall pass.
Years ago, after my laparoscopic gall bladder removal, I woke up with a tube through the upper right side of my belly as a postoperative procedure. After a couple of days, it was finally time to take it off. Without anesthesia or painkiller, the doctor carefully pulled it out of me and guided my breathing.
On the final pull, he warned me that it’s going to be really, really painful. It was. For probably around two seconds of what seemed like forever, it felt like my skin was being torn apart. But that was it. It was painful, but the pain ended.
“This, too, shall pass.” When I am pained physically or emotionally, I always get reminded of this. You can take comfort in knowing that your pain—that, too—shall pass.
Pray and ask God to help you fix your focus not on the pain, because it is temporary no matter how forever it seems, but on Him Who is healing you and is giving you hope for a brighter tomorrow.
