Radically Rediscovering Restનમૂનો
THE WAY
Do you know what early Christianity was called? The first time we see the term Christian is in Acts 11 when Paul and Barnabas were in Antioch.
Before that Christianity was called “The Way.”
Followers of Jesus were striving to live the way that Jesus lived. In John 14:6 Jesus says “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
It’s so interesting to me that the first thing Jesus mentions that He is, is the way.
Jesus’ way will always be better than what the world tries to sell us. We don’t have to work to earn God’s love because it’s already been given to us. We can rest in the presence of God knowing that God will never love us more based on our works or good deeds.
I recently heard a Pastor share that for us to live the way of Jesus we have to embrace the pace of grace that Jesus took. Busyness and hurry will lead us to a life of anxiety and stress. We have to be willing to trust that there is a better way. That better way starts with Jesus.
TAKE ACTION: Today when you feel hurried I want you to pause and ask yourself this question: How can you walk slowly enough to experience Jesus fully and love his people deeply?
