Pray, Wife! Pray!

DAY 7 OF 7

Becoming a Wife Who Leaves a Legacy

From the moment of our children’s birth, they have watched us. They aren’t just observing; they are also patterning themselves after us to some extent.

This is how they learn to walk, communicate, and even use the potty. We provide them with examples. As they grow and develop, they modify those examples, but the examples themselves lay a foundation for their lives.

Essentially, we are being followed.

It’s all too easy to forget that our children are right there most of the time. They see how we talk to each other, how we handle disagreements, and even how we show love.

We want them to be blessed by what they see, and we want them to be inspired to live a life that honors Christ too.

We are teaching our sons how to be husbands and our daughters how to be wives each and every day.

This is why your marriage is important. It’s important to more than just you and your husband. It’s important for the legacy that you are leaving.

Be careful…you are being followed!

Prayer:

Lord, remind me that I am laying a foundation for my children. I want them to see something in me that causes them to call me blessed. I want them to see things in my marriage that cause them to want to be married. I want my husband to see things in me that cause him to be thankful and affirming. May I be ever mindful they are watching me. May I be so in love with You, God, that they see Your actions in my actions, hear Your words in my words, and feel Your love through my love for them, in Jesus’ name!

About this Plan

Pray, Wife! Pray!

Changes in our marriages will only happen in proportion to changes in us. Yes, our husbands need to grow, but we can’t control their growth. We only have authority over our own. This devotional is designed to help us yield our hearts, and ultimately our actions and responses, to the life-changing power of God’s Word. As we do that, we will see changes in our marriages and our lives.
