How Can I Bring Honor?

DAY 7 OF 7

Add value to all people

What would happen to your sphere of influence if you honored everyone you met? I started doing this a few years ago with some exceptional results. I discovered this “honor formula” during a defeated chapter in my life, and it’s so powerful.

John Maxwell asked me to start the “Equip” curriculum in France. After all his years of success in the church and corporate world, John had a vision to train a million Transformational Leaders around the world. He needed a French-speaking trainer who would help fund it and teach it. After months of frustration and dead ends, I cried out to God: “God, I don’t know what to do. How can I reach these French people?” I immediately had a strong thought, direction from God: “Paul, be a Barnabas.” I knew exactly what that meant. I needed to add value to everyone I met. I immediately started asking everyone his/her name, place of birth, and career. Then I thanked people or gave them a compliment. The results have been amazing.

The Bible says, “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” (1 Peter 2:17, NKJV) Every day, I make a point of treating waiters, waitresses, little kids, guests, vendors, delivery people, and anyone I’m near with honor and respect. I’ve seen so many lives changed and made so many sincere friends. It seems like the climate of any meeting or situation can be changed into a “God atmosphere” by the power of honor.

Have you ever tried the power of honor as a tool to build relationships and businesses? I’m praying you will choose to use honor every day. Not just for the elders and leaders but for everyone. You’ll be amazed to see the change that one person can bring because you are a miracle.
