Death Or Life In Black And White

In both his letters and his gospel, John draws a pretty clear line in the sand. In his gospel, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me" ... and in his first letter he pens a similar reminder. There isn’t a third choice; it’s not a multiple choice concept. It’s either eternal life with Jesus, or without him and death.

Prayer: Lord, I acknowledge today that you are the only way; there is no provision for life here or in eternity without your Son. While I’m thankful for that fact, I need to see it in the context of those around me as well. Without you, their life is without hope. Give me the words to share the ‘good news’ of your salvation with someone today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
