5 Powerful Prayers to Strengthen the Hearts of Our Teachersનમૂનો
Hearts to Teach
Mrs. Eleanor Hall, my first grade teacher, was one of my favorites. I loved how she wrote our spelling words on the board with colored chalk, her gentle spirit amidst a classroom of 6 year-olds, and her genuine love of reading. Imagine how excited I was a few years later when I learned that she would also teach my 5th grade class! Teachers can encourage and inspire us. However, a teacher can turn us off to a subject if they are uncaring, disinterested, or simply boring. The teacher can make it or break it for most of us. God's heart is to teach us about Himself, relationships, and our world. Jesus was the Master Teacher, many times drawing the people in through stories.
As we begin these 5 days of prayer on behalf of our teachers, we can be confident that God, the Master Teacher, will strengthen their arms for their task.
Praise God, our Teacher
Luke chapter 4 tells us, “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through the whole countryside. He taught in their synagogues, and everyone praised Him.”
Jesus, we give You thanks and praise for Your heart of instruction. Patience and wisdom flow from You freely as You teach us many things in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Pray for Hearts Eager to Learn
King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 1:5, “Let the wise listen and add to their learning and let the discerning get guidance…”
God, may our teachers be filled with energy and creativity to pour into their lesson plans and classroom management. May they make the adventure of learning fresh each day for the children. May students listen and add to their learning, both intellectually and spiritually.
Pray for Hearts to Teach Others
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2
We pray that the efforts of classroom teachers would be multiplied as You encourage them in their vital roles during this challenging season. Create an atmosphere in which students reinforce concepts with each other. May they be eager to patiently instruct their peers, who will in turn teach others. We declare hope, joy, and peace in every classroom and in every educator’s heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
