What to Do When You're Not Healed

DAY 2 OF 7

Some people believe that if they become a Christian, all their suffering will end. Unfortunately, I want to make it clear that that's not the case.

Being a Christian doesn’t mean we'll escape suffering but that we'll learn to endure it.

Christianity is not a bridge over the troubled waters of life. A lot of times, Christianity is the path that walks through them. It's during the times of trials that our character is truly seen. Many people give praise to God as a result of healing, but how many praise God during the trial?

In suffering our character is seen. In the Bible, Paul tells Timothy to, "endure suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." The beautiful thing about the suffering of a Christian (whether it's in sickness, poverty, or persecution) is that we know that we are not alone in our suffering. God is not ashamed of us when we suffer. He does not disconnect himself from us when we go through the fires of life. He is with us always.

In the valley of the shadow of death, He walks with us. That should be the source of our encouragement amidst any trial we might face.

Pray This:

God, I thank you for being with me. I am grateful that you have never left me and that no matter what uncertainties I may be facing, I can always count on one thing—you'll never leave me or forsake me.

About this Plan

What to Do When You're Not Healed

Perhaps you find yourself praying for months or years for the healing of your body or of a loved one, without seeing that healing come. When time passes and healing does not come, it sifts our faith. If you find yourself not knowing what to do, this plan is meant to help strengthen your faith during this process.
