Break Trail

DAY 10 OF 30

See if this sounds familiar. You've had a rough day at school. Your locker was jacked, you dropped your book in the hallway, then someone chucked that thing down the stairs. Your friends forgot to save you a seat at lunch, and you completely forgot to study for your third-period exam. You come home hoping to find some support and relief. Frustrated, your family looks at you and tell you that you don't know what stress is and get over it. Sound familiar? Yeah, I thought so.

In those moments, we're simply looking for someone to listen to us and identify with what's going on in our lives. We just want someone to understand what we're going through and how we feel. We try to do the right thing, think the right things, say the right things . . . but we don't always keep our side of the bargain. We're afraid to talk about it because we don't want people to judge us. We know we need to be better but aren't sure how to make that happen.

When you rely on Jesus, do you consider he's never caught off guard with our struggles?

About this Plan

Break Trail

If you're a hiker, you know a trail-breaker is someone who walks ahead, makes a new way, and invites others to follow. That's exactly what Jesus did for us. He broke a new trail with his birth, his life, his teachings, and then with his death and resurrection. In this 30-day devotional series designed for Lent, we’ll see how Jesus showed us a new way of living and knowing God.
