From Broken to Whole

DAY 3 OF 6

Gathered Up From the Scattered Places

It is good to remind ourselves of what is true, what is good. King David, in Psalm 103, tells his soul to bless God and not forget Him. He urges his soul to not forget the good that God has done in his life. And in the message we heard in this plan, Jesus tells us that He collects our broken pieces that are “scattered in many places.” Without God loving us, proactively pursuing us, we are broken and helpless, a mess with no hope of being found.

So let’s spend a few minutes calling ourselves to attention. Let’s focus on the Father. Let’s participate in our being gathered up from the scattered places.

To do this, read David’s words aloud (Psalm 103: 2-5). Engage your heart as you speak it. Be attentive to what you think and how you feel. Be awake! Sense God’s presence with you!

O my soul, bless God, don’t forget a single blessing!

➸ Name some specific ways that God has blessed you this week.

He forgives your sins—every one.

➸ How has He forgiven you this very day?

He heals your diseases—every one.

➸ Of what disease is He healing you? Shame? Entitlement? Pride? Selfishness? Addiction?...

He redeems you from hell—saves your life!

➸ Consider what your life would be like without God loving you.

He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown.

➸ You are God’s heir, seated with Him now. Picture yourself there.

He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.

➸ Consider the good things God is doing for you, this moment, right now.

He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.

➸ Set your mind on the timelessness of God—and how you are always, always His child.

How do you feel? What was this experience like for you?

About this Plan

From Broken to Whole

Jesus was a carpenter and knows how to build beautiful things. We see that when we look around at creation - and we can also see it when he takes our broken pieces and makes them whole. This 6 day plan helps us journey from broken to whole through the power of the Holy Spirit. May it be an encouragement to you in the week ahead!
