Regret: How to Move Forward

DAY 4 OF 6

Day 4: Coming to Terms with It

It’s great to look at both the good and bad examples set forth by Esau, David, Saul, and many others. However, knowing what happened is only half of the battle. We have to put into action the lessons learned, if we want them to make a difference in our lives.

In today’s devotional think about the things that cause you to feel regret in your life. For some, it will be easier or therapeutic to write them down. Go right ahead. For others, get to a quiet place where you can concentrate and bring them to mind.

What caused me great regret were some of the relationship choices that I made. I really needed to mature Spiritually, and in my case it took quite some time to realize it. Ask God to help you and bring things to your mind.

Like Esau we need to get to a place where we can accept what happened and our role in it. This is the foundation we need so we can move forward.

The temptation will be to skim through the Bible verses and skip putting deep thought into this step. But I encourage you to fully think the regret through. Otherwise you may find yourself unable to move past it.

Regret: How to Move Forward

Regret is something we all face at one time or another because we all make mistakes. How do we work through that regret when the pain is deep? This plan will explore ways we can acknowledge our regrets and move on from them. We don't have to be stuck, and if submitted to God, we can come out better on the other side of it.
