5 Powerful Prayers to Impact the Hearts of Our School Communitiesનમૂનો
Hearts of Obedience
Slow obedience is disobedience. These words were proven in our home while we were raising our five children. I am reminded about a story I heard of a missionary family living in Africa which demonstrates the protection that obedience can provide. The son was out in their yard playing under a tree when his father noticed a large, venomous snake lying on a branch above the boy. The father called to his son, “Drop to the ground and crawl to me!” The boy obeyed promptly. Seconds later, the snake fell in the exact spot in which the boy had been playing. What may have happened if the son had argued, delayed or asked, “Why?” Although obedience is a personal choice, parents have the opportunity to train their children to listen for God’s voice and to obey.
Today, as we continue to pray powerful prayers to impact the hearts of our school communities, we trust God to raise up a nation of students and adults who follow Him in obedience.
Praise Jesus, Who Obeyed the Father!
“…He humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:8
Jesus, we give You praise for being obedient to the Father’s will, even though it meant suffering and death. Thank You so much that Your obedience brought the gift of forgiveness and eternal life.
Pray for Hearts That Obey the Lord
“Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh.” Jonah 3:3
Just as Jonah went to Nineveh, we pray that students and staff would obediently go where You are sending them. Give them grace to follow, especially when the task is difficult.
Pray for Hearts That Obey Earthly Authorities
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1
Lord, we pray that prompt obedience to authority would not be the exception but the rule in our classrooms and homes. May new thought patterns be created in the minds of our children so that their first inclination is to fully obey You, their parents, and their teachers, for this is right. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
