Praying in the Waiting નમૂનો
God hears all our prayers, but He may not answer them the way we hope. My prayers throughout the day vary from passionate to casual, thoughtless to purposeful. But regardless of how I pray, one thing is certain: all of my prayers are heard by God, but not all are answered the way I imagine they should be.
This world we live in is flooded with unanswered prayers. Most of these unanswered prayers in my personal and other people's lives are seemingly AMAZING: prayers for a loved one to follow Jesus, reconciled relationships, diseases to be cured, and for minds and hearts to be restored. But when months, years, or even decades go by and our prayers appear to be unanswered, I have seen it crush a person’s faith, distort their view of God, and even cause some to walk away from Him completely.
Yet, when our prayers go unanswered, we are called to trust God. But how? For me, the best way I have learned to trust God is by turning to the Bible. Reading about those who have gone before me (and even struggled and wrestled with God) brings me so much hope. The same God Abraham worshiped is the same God we worship. The same God who heard Leah’s prayers hears yours. The same God who wrote out Moses's story is writing down ours. And the same God who didn’t grant Jesus’s prayer in the garden for the cup to pass is still working His perfect plan out for you today.
So what prayer of yours has been left unanswered? What is holding you back from trusting God’s plan in the midst of this heartache? Is there a way your prayers could reflect your trust in Him no matter the outcome?
