“This is Living”
God your freedom is an open door
You are everything I want and more
REVIVAL THOUGHT
There is a famous poem by Robert Frost that uses the analogy of a man who is walking along a road that leads through the woods until he encounters a fork in a road. Not knowing which way to take, he tries his hardest to look at both options fairly and weighs up his choices – which road will he take? He is unsure.
Eventually he decides saying:
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
Our choices are often like that.
Sometimes it seems like we’re making insignificant choices about things that don’t really have a massive impact on our life - like what to eat for breakfast or what movie we’re going to watch. At other times our choices can be a bit harder to make. Harder still, sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we feel like we don’t have a choice at all.
What choice do we make? Does it even matter?
The Bible says that God has given us the freedom to choose our response to every situation we find ourselves in. And not only can we choose, but He shows us the ability to choose rightly by telling us to “choose Life” - a life that is full of everything good that comes from Him.
Even if we’ve made the wrong choices, Jesus is always there giving us the opportunity to choose the Life that he offers.
So whenever you find yourself at a fork-in-the-road, remember the choice that you’ve been given.
Choose Jesus, and live the life you were created to live.
HEART CHECK
1) Why are choices powerful? Can you think of an example?
2) What kind of things can impact the choices we make?
3) How can we use our choices to live the life that God created us to live?
WALK IT OUT
