Because He Delights in Youનમૂનો
The Love That Never Leaves
I shed a tear as I write this. My heart was convinced to write this devotion after for four days in the morning I opened the Bible to see a verse that spoke of His delight. I was not ready to accept a note of delight when I was struggling so badly with so many questions and hurt and exhaustion. Yet God’s love proved constant. These four verses, these four truths, these four days – spoke deeply to my heart of His great delight that never leaves us nor forsakes us. The same God who pursued me, is pursuing you. The same God who healed me is healing you too. The same God who holds my hands, holds yours too. He will lovingly lead you forward – step by step, moment by moment.
Remember, that our LORD takes delight in the way you see yourself when you look yourself in the mirror each morning, He takes delight in the words you speak at the company of friends, He takes delight in the way you bounce back on the challenges that try to pin you down, He takes delight in the small faithful steps you take each day and He delights in the silent prayers and whispers of faith when nobody hears you or sees you.
This is His kind of love that not only saves us, but will rejoice over us with singing. This is His kind of love that will embrace us even when His hands are nailed and stretched and His body left to die for us. This is His kind of love that made Him leave Heaven to come redeem us and restore us to Heaven’s delight.
Zephaniah talks of the LORD who sings, who lulls us to sleep, who gives us rest, who guards our dreams, who defends our smile and who heals our soul. In these times of havoc, tragedy and loss – my heart pours out to you as I pray for you and write this. Let us arise in the love of the Triune God and build our lives in His strength, taking every step forward in trust and obedience alone. Let us take only His Hand – His love will lead. In these times of heavy hurt, let us be intentional in seeing His delight in our small steps forward. Knowing His love will never leave us, let us be merciful to our past, hopeful to our future and kind to the present. It’s okay to be emotional, to be weary, and to cave in but Love reminds you not to linger longer – you’re born to arise in His Love! You’re never alone – Because He greatly delights in you.
