Becoming a Bold Entrepreneur: A 3-Day Devotionalનમૂનો
All growth—both personal and business—happens in only one place. Can you guess where?
Outside your comfort zone.
Do you remember the heart-stopping scene from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, when Indiana Jones followed an ancient book leading him to the Holy Grail? In his final test of faith, he stood at the edge of a bottomless, impassable chasm facing certain death if he took one more step. And as he teetered on the edge, his father’s whisper echoed in his head, “You must believe, boy. You must believe.”
Indiana breathed deeply, fixed his eyes on the goal ahead, chose to believe, and firmly planted his foot in the empty air.
I experience a rapid heartbeat every time God asks me to do the same thing: stepping outside of my comfort zone. Doing so feels a lot like Indiana’s leap of faith: scary, terrifying, fraught with danger. The truth is, I love the familiar and comfortable. Yet God has given us scandalously wild promises in his Word, and our experience of them lies in the zone of the unknown. Out there, just beyond our comfort zone, when we walk by faith, this life’s journey, while challenging, can also be . . .
· Worry-free
· Joy-filled
· Peace-permeated
· Marked with supernatural wisdom just when we need it most
· Guaranteed to make an eternal difference in this world
Yet with all of life’s trials and challenges, each one seemingly harder than the last, leaps of faith are not easy. But they can be taken.
Daily, in the hidden places where no one sees (and we think no one will know), God gives us the opportunity to hear what he says, then lift our feet, and, in faith, shift our weight from the firm, familiar ground of what the human eye can see onto the immovable, unshakeable, unalterable promises of our eternal God.
On his last crusade, after he stepped out in faith, Indiana Jones found that the way—an invisible bridge—appeared.
When we step out in faith, God provides a way.
As you step out of your comfort zone today and into the zone of faith, hear God’s promise to you from Luke 11:28 (ISV): “How blessed are those who hear God’s word and obey it.”
