May 29
Introduction
Chapter 28 concludes the book of Acts and we learn of Paul’s life while under house arrest in Rome. This final episode ends on a hopeful and triumphant note with Paul witnessing to God’s reign in the heart of the Roman Empire.
Today’s Scripture Reading: Acts 28:16-31
Today’s Key Verse: Acts 28:31
[Paul] preached about the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ, speaking with all boldness and freedom.
Reflect
What was Paul’s life like in Rome? How did those who came to hear Paul’s message react to his words (verse 24)? Are there people who react the same way today? Who will you speak to today about Jesus?
Pray
Lord Jesus, you have called us to be witnesses to preach the Good News. Empower me with your Holy Spirit to bear witness to your love and proclaim with boldness the message of your salvation. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
