Through the Bible: Judgesનમૂનો
God is Faithful and Enduring
“Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more. Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress...
And the people of Israel said to the Lord, "We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to You. Only please deliver us this day."
Judges 10:13, 15 (ESV)
I remember many times praying for dear friends who have been afflicted and suffering either financially, emotionally or physically, and I saw God’s goodness miraculously displayed and witnessed through their lives. When I thought His amazing salvation was near them, it hurt my heart to see some give their praises to men and others exchange the glory of the immortal God for idol statues covered with silver and gold. They bowed down to images that have mouths but couldn’t speak, have eyes but couldn’t see and have no breath in them. I felt the sorrow of God, but I also believe His grace is abundant, for I once was lost and now I’m found. Jesus, who is faithful, will rescue the people as soon as they cry out to Him.
Prayer:
Father God, have mercy on the unfaithful and the lost, may Your anger endure a moment and let Your love persevere. Shine light into them with Your new mercies; weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning. Soften their hearts Lord and make our joy complete. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
About this Plan
Judges describes the deteriorating cycle of the Israelites following Joshua’s death. Because of idolatry, the Israelites were oppressed by the enemies. When they repented, God raised up judges to deliver them. Soon they forgot and fell into evil, and the vicious cycle continued. Even today, leaders are sent to deliver us but a true salvation takes place only when our hearts are obedient to the one King who remains forever.
