Feeling Far Away From God?નમૂનો
Another way we can drift away from God is through idolatry. Now, I know that you will likely respond that you don’t worship idols. That is because you probably think of idolatry as bowing down before a statue or worshiping at a pagan altar. But idolatry covers so much more than that. Idolatry means more than kneeling in front of a carved statue.
An idol is anything that usurps God’s rightful rule in your life. And idols come in all shapes and sizes. What’s more, they can even be found in the church. The concept of idolatry centers on alignment. Anything to which you assign primary value, or to which you align your thoughts, words and actions can become an idol.
Have you ever wondered why we can have some many churches, and Christian books, and all these songs, programs, seminars, huddle groups, Bible studies, radio broadcasts, podcasts and more—and yet still have so much spiritual weakness? It’s because there are idols everywhere. Somebody, or something, has been raised up into God’s realm of rule. And there is no room for two kings in any sovereign land. Anytime you turn to other sources to meet your needs, to entertain you or to solve your problems, you have become an idolater. As a result, your life has been set on a path away from your destiny. God must always be first.
