Global Pan(dem)ic & a Sound Faith (Part 2): A 4-Day Maturity Check

DAY 3 OF 4

A Trinity-based spirituality orients life to the Father, in the Son, and by the Spirit.

We mature to the glory of the Father. He is the reason for our existence. Spiritual adults have learned to increasingly deflect honor to the Father. They acknowledge God’s providence—His goodness, power and wisdom—as they cry to Him in the middle of trials. Maturing godliness is simply living to the fame of God the Father in whatever circumstances we find ourselves.

We mature in the name of the Son. He is our help and our example. The great passages in the book of John, especially John 15, declare that without Christ we can do nothing. There will be no lasting fruit unless we abide in Him. Christians should also undergo circumstances as Jesus did—in humility, looking for opportunities of service and sacrifice. We cry out to the Father, who will otherwise not hear us, in the Son’s name. We await the day when His name will be recognized above every name—even the names of diseases like COVID-19. The more we identify with the Name of Jesus, the more mature and the more Christian we are.

We mature by the power of the Spirit. He is the one who enables us to be Christlike. We declare that we are insufficient for meeting disaster. Without the Spirit, spiritual vitality is impossible. We can’t use difficult conditions as excuses to return to the patterns of the flesh. Synergy with the Holy Spirit leads to spiritual maturity.

About this Plan

Global Pan(dem)ic & a Sound Faith (Part 2): A 4-Day Maturity Check

In the second installment of a three-part series, Dr. Ramesh Richard, president of RREACH (a Global Proclamation Ministry) and professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, offers additional thoughts on how adversity and disruption provide not only an "Identity Check" (Part 1), but also a "Maturity Check" for the Believer. Ultimately, there is freedom in living our lives under the shadow and the empowerment of our Trinitarian Christian Faith.
