The Value of Confidence
I want to focus on the topic of confidence today. Life unquestionably comes with both accolades and shame. And, oftentimes, our confidence rides on which of those two things occurs on a given day.
But what if it didn’t have to? What if there was a way that, whether you experienced success or failure, you would accept them both the same? What if you could fully live confident?
In Hebrews 10:35–36 we’re encouraged, Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised (ESV).
The confidence the Apostle Paul is writing about isn’t based on circumstances but on the prevailing truth of what Jesus has already accomplished on our behalf. That is why we can walk in confidence and then have the ability to endure and experience God’s promises in our lives.
Personal Reflection
How confident have you felt today? Does your confidence ride on what you think about yourself or the latest bad thing, even good thing, that happened to you?
