Love God Greatly: Jesus Our Everythingનમૂનો

The author of Hebrews closes with a benediction and prayer for his readers. He concludes his points and arguments by reminding readers who is in control. It is God Himself who equips us for doing His will. 

God equips us for doing His will, first and foremost, by giving us Jesus. He established a new covenant, one by the blood of Christ that lasts forever, one that replaces the covenant He established with Israel. Jesus is our advocate, our rest, our High Priest, our better sacrifice, and our peace. With our faith in Jesus, we have everything we need to do His will. We will not drift away because it is God who holds our salvation.

The Book of Hebrews offers us a profound message of rest. Christ is our ultimate rest, and in Him, we find peace and eternal security. We can stop striving, knowing He has created a way for us. Even as we continue to grow in our faith, God Himself equips us through the Holy Spirit to do His will and to know Him more. What grace!

Father God, I praise You for giving me rest. I do not have to strive for my salvation, for my standing before You, or for my faith to grow because You are in control and equipping me along the way. Help me to live a life that honors You, resting in the truth that You have done the work of salvation and sanctification for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
