How to Navigate a Stormનમૂનો
Day 2 Devotional
Second Principle: RECOGNIZE WHO YOU WANT TO PLEASE
These are Jesus' words: “I cannot do anything on my own; I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is fair, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me and not mine ” (John 5:30).
Jesus was always clear to WHOM HE WANTED TO PLEASE. He had pressures and demands from the people around him. He knew that He only had to please one, the Father, who once said of His son “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased ” (Matthew 3:17).
When we are focused on pleasing the Father, God will affirm us as He did Jesus. This affirmation will be a security for our soul, serving as an anchor in the midst of storms.
When we are concerned about pleasing others: we will easily give in to criticism because we are concerned with what others say, competition because we want to be first, or conflict because we get angry when someone disagrees with us.
Life can become very complicated if we try to please everyone. But if we focus on pleasing God before others our lives will be easier. We will have more clarity in our problems and have a more reliable guide in our life.
