Be Refreshed: 5 Days of Refreshing in Gods Wordનમૂનો
DAY 1: REST BRINGS REFRESHING
In times of isolation our lives have melted together, time frames, structured days are now one big blurry mess. But it’s time to have a new start, restore the time of rest. Dedicating time with God, like the Sabbath or your prayer and Word time in the morning, is essential in your health and productivity. It is really important to take time out to refresh; it sets the rest of the day or week on a good foundation! Abraham Lincoln said: Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. A car needs to come in and fill up with petrol for the car to keep going. Your Sabbath, your morning Bible time is the same concept, it’s a time of refreshing again to fill up again, to sharpen your axe so you can continue more productive and stronger.
When I was on tour in Israel I loved seeing families without devices, away from the television, without any distractions just being together and having Shabat together. Young kids, older kids and parents playing board games, talking, being together. It was so amazing to watch. This scripture speaks boldly that our God spent six days working and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed. If God needs to do it, then how much more do we!
But let’s be honest, it is incredibly hard to set aside the time. I mean I can’t get everything I have to do done in the seven days, let alone taking one day away. But when you look at it differently, you can’t not take time out! Just like the axe story when you realise that if you take some time out; without devices, without lists and spend time with your family, praying, reading your Bible, going on a picnic, worshipping God, going to Church whatever your time of rest involves. You will feel refreshed, rejuvenated and end up being more productive for the remaining time.
Restore your 10 minutes in the Bible before you go to work or school and restore your Sunday’s of rest! You will be refreshed and better off for doing it!

To refresh ourselves in the Word of God, washing off all of the muck and dirt ready for a new start. So, jump in with us as we spend the next five days looking at the topic of ‘refreshing’ in the Word of God.
