Overcoming Spiritual Amnesiaનમૂનો
Day 2: Receive + Share God’s Love — Repent of Sins.
How about waking up and recognizing that we begin each day just as we ended the previous one — we are in the grip of God's unfailing love. Notice I didn’t say unconditional love. No. It’s not. It is conditional on our decision to humble ourselves today - and drawing near to God.
Consider the words of the Apostle James, God “gives (more) grace to the humble…. Draw near to God, and He’ll draw near to you.” - (James 4:6-8)
Maybe you don’t feel that way today.
I get it. It’s easier to forsake our call to be humble than to fight and escape our pride.
Beloved, Allow God’s grace to work in you and through you.
His love is calling you back to humility. He loves you more in a single moment than anyone could in a whole lifetime.
That should make our hearts stir with love and our voices sing with joy.
This song will stir God's Spirit within us and lead us to a deep and profound thanksgiving that gladdens all of our days. So rather than waking up tired, cranky, and prideful dreading another day, let's begin this day with a reminder of God's grace in our daily lives and a reminder of God's promises in our hearts, not pride.
Ask the Lord to search your thoughts and attitudes for pride, to help you recognize idols, and to strengthen you to lay aside sinful patterns and return to the cross. Only by His power are we able to recognize our sin, confess in humility, and repent, knowing full-well that His grace abounds in our weakness.
Then, I don't think we're going to have any problem singing the rest of the day!
Let’s pray this over us.
Heavenly Father, thank you for pouring your love and joy into my heart through your Holy Spirit. Fill my heart and satisfy my life with a sense of your abiding and unfailing love. In the name of my loving Savior, Jesus. Amen.
