The Way, The Truth, And The Life: A 12-Day Reading Planનમૂનો
Why What You Think About Jesus Matters
“Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?”
In court, a witness answers this question, “I do.” The testimony of a witness cannot be weighed apart from the integrity of a witness.
Throughout Jesus' earthly life, He testified to who God is (John 17:26). In the presence of many witnesses, His words and actions revealed the love and mercy of an almighty God. A God who so loves people, “that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus’ life proved that His testimony about God was true.
Just as Jesus testifies that God gives eternal life, God testifies that Jesus is the way to eternal life.
He did this when He raised Jesus from the dead, giving Him power and authority over all of creation (Ephesians 1:19-20). Jesus’ victory over death is our victory over death when we put our trust in Him (Romans 5:15-17).
Satan, people, or our own thoughts will try to dispute God’s testimony that Jesus is the way to eternal life. The Holy Spirit helps those who are far from God understand that Jesus is the way to Him. The Holy Spirit also helps those who know God see the truth in His Word (1 John 5:7-8).
Like a jury, we get to decide if we believe whether what God says is true. At some point, either here on Earth or in eternity, we'll face the question of who we think Jesus is. And how we answer that question is what makes all the difference (1 John 5:10).
Reflect:
- Do you have a relationship with Jesus but still wrestle with doubts about your status with God? In what way?
- Who can talk to about your doubts today?
- Do you feel the Holy Spirit calling you to Jesus? If you’ve never started a relationship with Jesus, you can do that today.

About this Plan
Jesus made a lot of claims about Himself during His time on Earth. One of the most audacious claims Jesus made is that He is “the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). You’ve probably heard preachers say, “Jesus is the only way to heaven.” Why is that? Who did Jesus really claim to be? And what does it mean to make Him the standard for truth?
