Jesus | Jesus Is a Teacher
Jesus was the greatest teacher who ever lived, not just because He taught great truths but because He is truth. Great multitudes always followed Jesus, even into deserted places where there was no food, just to hear Him teach. He taught on earth 2,000 years ago and to this day people are still astonished at His teachings. There are three characteristics that made Jesus’ teachings so amazing: He taught authoritatively, practically and graphically.
When Jesus came on the scene, it didn’t matter to Him what anyone else had said. He spoke the truth with authority, and people heard it, loved it and responded to it. No one had ever spoken to them like Jesus. People respond to His teachings today because every human being was created by God to respond to truth, and Jesus always imparted truth when He taught.
Jesus never spoke religious nonsense; He was a master teacher. He answered life’s most complicated questions in simple, practical ways. Jesus also understands us and what we are going through. He brings eternal truths into our culture and makes them relevant for our present situation.
Jesus never spoke the truth in some kind of dull, boring lecture. He never just stood up and gave a list of rules and regulations. He painted pictures and told stories. Jesus knew that people remember stories long after they’ve forgotten formal points. He taught graphically so that years later, when we read His words, we could get the picture and understand His message.
All of Jesus’ teachings point to one truth—although none of us deserve it, God’s grace covers all sin. Jesus doesn’t care where you have been or what you have done. He is inviting you today to turn from sin, accept the truth and enter into a relationship with Him. Will you come to Him today?
