TAKE A STEP

The life God has promised is actually within our grasp. 

God's desire is for us to experience the life that He has for us - one full of promises and purpose. But in order to see this life outworked God requires something from us. To be effective and see God's promises fulfilled we need to be moving forward; we need to take action. We need to change. We need to take a step. So, where are you positioned right now? And where should you be taking a step?

When we are frustrated about not experiencing the fullness of life God has promised, the breakdown is not with God's willingness - He is generous and gracious - the breakdown is usually at our unwillingness to take a step. We wait and procrastinate and wonder and dream, but don't act! Procrastination robs us of possessing. We aren't called to remain dreaming, at some stage we need to start doing - we need to take steps of faith. And when we do, God promises to meet us in that place.

All throughout the Bible there are examples of God calling people out of their holding pattern to take a step into His promises. He called Peter out of the boat to walk on water, He told the Israelites to march around Jericho, He told four lepers to walk towards the enemy's camp. In all these scenarios, when people responded to God's call to take a step, He stepped in and did what only He could do to bring about a victory. Taking a step releases God to move. Let's determine to take steps of faith in response to the vision God has for our lives.

What was the last step you took in response to God's call?

What step can you take today?

PRAY:

God I want to hear your call and respond in faith. Show me where I need to take a step today. I believe I will begin to possess what you have promised, when I position myself for it.
