One Minute Apologist - Doubting Toward Faith

DAY 8 OF 10

CAN DEMANDING CERTAINTY CREATE DOUBT?

It is no secret that our culture is rapidly changing, producing a cloud of confusion among believers. Once passionate, many believers are now experiencing a mass breakout of the doubts.

The past few days we have looked at different facets of doubt. We can seek and search for every question we have to be answered, but eventually we will hit a wall. It is impossible to know everything about the God we serve.

This is where faith comes in.

Faith is necessary if we are going to slay our doubts, or at least reduce them.

So what is faith? To understand faith, first, we need to understand what it is not. Faith is not a flippant rejection of scientific facts. Faith is not a free subscription to nonsense. Faith and reason are not enemies.

The Cambridge dictionary defines faith as: “A high degree of trust or confidence in something or someone.” We all have faith. We all put our trust in something or someone. Having faith does not mean you become an intellectual invalid.
The good news is there’s something about faith that thrills God. He loves it when we display faith in Him. Faith causes us to draw near to Him. Think about all the people in the Bible that had to show faith while following God. Again, knowing that you are not alone can help on this journey of DOUBTING TOWARD FAITH.

REFLECTION

How is your faith? Is it strong, or weak? Does it stand up to your doubts? Knowing you can’t have all of your questions answered, does your faith suffer? Pray for God to strengthen your faith in Him.
