Book of Deuteronomy

DAY 4 OF 11

HOLD FIRM TO GOD

The Bible tells us that the evidence of our love of God is wholeheartedly doing everything God commanded us to do. Moses also told the Israelites not to forget or ignore God’s commandments during their journey into the Promised Land. He reminded them not to worship other gods or follow foreign nations to worship their gods. The Israelites were also asked not to seek advice from other gods.

Man tends to search for new things and this usually leads to action. That’s why God discouraged the Israelites from asking for advice from foreign gods. We are sometimes like that too. The world is offering us this and that which seems so interesting, and if we keep seeing it we will be trapped to try it.  And once we are in the trap it is difficult to release ourselves from it. If we do not repent we will be dragged away, further from God.

God promised blessings to His chosen people—blessings which are our inheritance. What we have to realize is that the world is under the control of the evil one. What the enemy will provide is curses, not blessings. Therefore, let us choose life from God, not curses that will bring spiritual death. Let's become followers of God, for we are His beloved people.

With joy, do things that please God and you will receive abundant blessings.
